Privacy policy
Flow Wave is a game by VRTogether (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the game uses, what it does with it, and how you can delete it.
What data the game collects
Flow Wave does not send any data to us. It has no accounts of its own, no ads, no analytics and no in-app purchases. Its only online feature, the leaderboard, is off until you turn it on, and goes through Meta’s services, not ours.
To work, the game uses the following on your headset only:
- Hand and head tracking. Your headset’s system tracks your hands and head. The game reads those positions every frame to let you pick up, throw and steer the plane and to place the portal in front of you. It does not record, store or transmit them.
- Your surroundings. The game shows your room through your headset’s passthrough, which the headset’s system draws. The game never receives camera images and does not scan or map your room.
- Your game progress. Coins, upgrades, unlocked planes, your best distance and a few settings (for example, whether you have seen How to Play and where you moved the hangar menu) are saved in the game’s private storage on your headset.
The leaderboard (optional, off until you turn it on)
The leaderboard page in the game’s menu explains what it shares and has a button to turn it on. While it is on:
- Your best distance and the plane that flew it are posted to the Flow Wave leaderboard, which is run by Meta as part of its platform services, under your Meta username. Anyone playing Flow Wave can see the leaderboard, so they can see your username, best distance and plane.
- The game reads your Meta user ID from Meta’s platform, only to highlight your own row. It isn’t stored or sent anywhere by the game.
You can turn the leaderboard off on the same page at any time. That stops new posts; your existing entry stays on the board until you ask us to remove it (see “How to delete your data”).
Checking your copy of the game
When the game starts on Meta Quest, it asks Meta’s platform service on your headset whether your account owns Flow Wave (an “entitlement check”, which the Meta Horizon Store requires). The answer stays on your headset; we don’t receive anything about you.
How the data is used
Tracking data is used only, and only in the moment, to play the game. Saved progress is used only to continue your game the next time you play. Leaderboard data (if you turned it on) is used only to show the leaderboard. We never sell, share or use any of it for advertising.
How the data is protected
Unless you turn on the leaderboard, nothing the game knows about you leaves your headset; when it’s on, only your best distance and plane go to Meta’s leaderboard service, under your Meta username. Your saved progress lives in storage that only Flow Wave can read, protected by your headset’s operating system. We never receive any of your data on servers of our own, so there is nothing about you on our side to lose or leak.
How to delete your data
- Uninstall Flow Wave, or clear its data in your headset’s settings (Settings > Apps > Flow Wave > Clear data, where available). Either one deletes all of the game’s saved progress.
- To remove your leaderboard entry, email us at contact email from the address on your Meta account, or tell us your Meta username, and we will delete it through Meta’s leaderboard tools within 30 days.
- We hold no other data about you. For any other question, email contact email; we reply within 30 days.
Meta and your headset
Your headset, the Meta Horizon Store and Meta’s services are run by Meta under Meta’s own privacy policy, which covers what Meta collects when you buy, install and play apps. This policy covers only the Flow Wave game.
Children
Flow Wave does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes
If the game starts collecting anything else, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date below.
